For too long, we in the different faith traditions of what can be called the "alternative spirituality" community have done without a meeting place of our own. We've met in people's living rooms, rented halls and lodges, or used other, less-than-ideal locations. And we've made do, because, as separate communities, we have not had the resources to acquire our own places of worship. Isn't it time for this to change? Introducing CASA The Cascadia Alternative Spirituality Association was formed in October of 2003 and is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable foundation dedicated to building security, stability, and prospertiy in the alternative spirituality communities of the Puget Sound and establishing a communially-held center to promote all our efforts. This center has the express purpose of providing a space for our various alternative spirituality communities to hold worship services, teach workshops, hold meetings and social events and have offices to serve their members. We believe that by pooling our resources together through a common neutral organization, the alternative spirituality communities of the area can acquire, open and maintain a facility that we can all call "home". Donations to CASA are tax-deductible and we qualify for most employers' matching grant programs. News Flash!CASA's next "Rescue Raffle" is scheduled for April 5, 2007.CASA’s “Rescue Raffle” is a charitable program to provide much-needed financial assistance for individuals in the alternative spirituality community who are facing a catastrophic life crisis with little or no financial resources.
